Manfred Wilke

Manfred Wilke (*1941) is a sociologist, GDR-researcher and contemporary historian. In 1976 he co-founded the “Security Committee Freedom and Socialism” (Schutzkomitee Freiheit und Sozialismus), an organization of intellectuals based in West Berlin standing up for the disimprisonment of political prisoners in the GDR. Wilke took part in Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s Oscar-winning movie “Life of others” as an academic consultant.
