John Malcolm Watts

John Watts is an musician as well as a poet, his most famous pseudonym is Fischer-Z. From 1979 to 1981 he sold under this name millions of albums, as there were “Word Salad”, “Going Deaf For A Living” and “Red Skies Over Pardise”. Under his own name he published for example “One More Twist” and “The Iceberg Model”. His latest album is “This Is My Universe”. John Watts’ 39-year career has included in total 19 albums and around 3.000 concerts and festivals worldwide. He has been successful both in Fischer-Z and as a solo artist throughout Europe, with album sales in excess of two million.

Sitting in my favourite local café listening to Bob Dylans ‘It’s A Hard Rains Gonna Fall’ reminded me of the fundamental changes that have occurred since Great Britain had its first referendum on European membership. In the 70s there were no cafes serving ten different types of coffee to a clientele almost exclusively glued to laptop screens, running their businesses from flat white to cappuccino.
